Mary Battista, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Mary Battista grew up in Winchester, CT . She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Cornell University then went on to graduate from Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989.
Dr. Battista is a member of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Litchfield County Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys both the medical and surgical aspects of general practice with special interests including endocrine disorders, ultrasound studies and the whole body approach to health care. Forging bonds with her four footed patients and their doting owners has been the most rewarding aspect of her career.
Dr Battista and her husband raised two children who had
been very active in 4-H and FFA. When graduating college and moving on, they had left behind a few of their beloved Brown Swiss cows to keep mom and dad busy with the endless but happy chores on their small hobby farm. They share their time outdoors with their happy
chocolate lab “Hiker.” In her remaining free time Dr. Battista loves to hike, backpack and go wilderness camping in the Adirondacks where she has been working on “climbing the 46” (for some time now.) Gardening and bird watching are also favorite pastimes.
