Josef Walsh-Motiram, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Josef Walsh-Motiram is originally from East Haddam, CT and currently lives in Bristol, CT. He recieved his undergraduate degree from Central Connecticut State University and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. His interest in veterinary medicine has stemmed from an innate love of animals growing up and was reinforced while he worked as a veterinary assistant and technician at Chester Veterinary Clinic before starting veterinary school. He enjoys working with small animals but also has an interest in birds. He had some experience in veterinary school participating as a lead student in a Raptor Rehabilitation Program for wild or injured raptor species including hawks, eagles and owls. 

 

In his free time, Dr. Walsh-Motiram spends time with his husband, two dogs Jake and Nox and their cat Summer. He also enjoys traveling, trips to the beach, hiking and reading fantasy novels. He is very excited to be a part of the Winsted Hospital for Animals team while jumpstarting his career as a Veterinarian!
